Members of the church of Christ do not conceive of themselves as a new church started near the beginning of the 19th century. Rather, the whole movement is designed to reproduce in contemporary times the church originally established on Pentecost, A.D. 30 and that spread in the first century as revealed in the New Testament. The strength of the appeal lies in the restoration of Christ's original church. |

Churches of Christ seek to practice the principle of the Bible being the only source to find doctrine (also known as "sola scriptura"). The Bible is regarded as inspired and inerrant. Churches of Christ see the Bible as historically accurate and literal, unless scriptural context obviously indicates otherwise. Our approach to the Bible is driven by the "assumption that the Bible is sufficiently plain and simple to render its message obvious to any sincere believer". Related to this is an assumption that the Bible provides an understandable "blueprint" or "constitution" for the church.
East Grand Church of Christ is an open, loving, grace-filled church. We are focused on magnifying the Father’s love and fulfilling His mission within our community and beyond.
LEARNING from His word. We believe God’s word is alive, and essential in every believer’s life. Teaching and preaching are used as channels for God’s Holy Spirit to work in our lives, and equip us for His service. Tradition is not our focus. Rather, we are seeking to please the Father, and desire to be obedient to Him in all things. Opportunity for learning exists for all age groups, and at various times throughout the week.
LIVING by His Spirit: Every family needs a stable, balanced, and godly environment in which to thrive. At the very heart of East Grand, we seek to provide such an environment that emphasizes acceptance and loving relationships. God has involved people of all backgrounds in this ministry. The East Grand family is a collection of ministers, each gifted to do God’s work and fulfill their purpose in Him. Because our members are blessed with a multitude of gifts, we have many active ministries and areas of service -- which allows most everyone to find a good “fit.” We are devoted to teaching, discipleship, and much prayer to successfully equip God's people in every aspect of their lives.
LEADING by Servanthood: We believe that our purpose as a part of God’s body is to carry out His great commission to make disciples. This has long been East Grand’s passion. We have historically been active in world missions, and we continue to grow and lead by obedience in this area. More recently, God has begun using us to be salt and light in our own community. These two areas of missions are a big part of our identity.
LOVING God, Loving Others: Another core area that East Grand is known for, is by its authentic relationships. We believe each person’s most important relationship is with the Father. As a body, our first priority is to call each other to Him. Next in importance is each person’s relationship with others. Our relationships are marked by loving, knowing, and serving one another with a strong spirit of love.
